2023-12-18

Dear Friends and Colleagues:
Due to the pandemic of COVID-19, the 16th ISBAB Symposium was forced to be postponed for two years and finally held in Taiwan in November 2022, with in-person and virtual presentations. The ISBAB Board of Directors requested Taiwan continue to host the 17th meeting to resume all regular activities of ISBAB. It is our great pleasure to invite you to join the 17th International Symposium on Biocatalysis and Agricultural Biotechnology (17th ISBAB), which has been held from Nov. 8-10, 2023, at National Chung Hsing University (NCHU), Taichung, Taiwan. This Symposium is jointly organized by NCHU, the International Society of Biocatalysis and Agricultural Biotechnology (ISBAB), Academia Sinica, and the National Science and Technology Council, Taiwan. The 17th ISBAB intends to create a forum for all scientists majoring in biocatalysis and agricultural biotechnology, and related research fields. The central theme of the 17th ISBAB symposium focuses on Biocatalysis and Bioprocesses, Agricultural Biotechnology, Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals, and AI application in complementary and herbal medicine biotechnology
In this symposium, about 50 distinguished scientists from Canada, Croatia, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Saudi Arabia, the Slovak Republic, the United States, and Taiwan gather on-site to share their valuable research advances. We are delighted to have this first in-person ISBAB symposium to resume normal communication after the long agony of the COVID-19 pandemic. Special thanks are delivered to the Taiwan Association for Traditional and Complementary Medicine as co-organizers. Also, we sincerely thank National Chung Hsing University, Academia Sinica, the National Science and Technology Council, the Ministry of Education, and several Companies for their financial support. Moreover, we also heartedly thank the organizing committee members, colleagues, and students in the Graduate Institute of Genomics and Bioinformatics, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, College and Life Sciences, and the Biotechnology Center, NCHU, for their efforts in making this symposium possible.

To encourage the young scientists to share their research work, we also ran an oral/poster presentation competition at 17th ISBAB. Among over 69 oral/poster presentations, following recipients were selected and awarded.
